Why Choose Us?

The Excalibur Solutions STEM Academy was created to expand access to STEM education opportunities for all students. So much of what students are exposed to depends on where and how they attend school. Further, students who do not have the chance to explore STEM fields first-hand are less likely to pursue those fields in college or as a career.

As students complete projects in our programs, they learn concepts from computer science and electrical engineering, allowing them to look at the world around them with curiosity for how things work. We offer both interactive distance learning through our instructor-led classes and access to our extensive collection of self-paced video lessons.

The T&E in STEM

Our engaging lessons encourage students to analyze and simulate real-world problems then build solutions with inexpensive electronic components and computer programming.

21st Century Skills

STEM education helps to develop other 21st century skills like problem solving, logical reasoning, and how to deal with undesirable or unexpected outcomes. These are things we use all the time in both technical and non-technical contexts.

Lauren Seibert

Director, Elementary Programs

Lauren is a former elementary education teacher, who specialized in STEM education during part of her career as a classroom instructor. She used Raspberry Pi computers to incorporate coding and problem-solving skills into existing science units as a STEM program co-leader. Her certification as a Teacher of English Language Learners and her recent work with students with special needs has provided experience modifying and making curriculum accessible for all learners.

Lauren has presented at the New Jersey Science Convention, both on making STEM education accessible for English Language Learners and on creating cross-curricular STEM opportunities for students. Lauren enjoys working with elementary students and has a strong passion for developing programs that provide equal opportunities for all kids. Developing STEM skills at a young age sets up our children for success, and it is Lauren’s mission to provide programs that promote these skills in an exciting, creative way that is developmentally appropriate for our elementary population of learners!
