Introduction to
Digital Logic with the Digital Evaluation Board

Digital logic is the foundation on which modern computers are built. This course will guide you through the construction of several circuits using the Digital Evaluation Board (DEB).

The DEB is a self-contained circuit prototyping platform designed for students, educators, and technology enthusiasts. It enables hands-on digital logic design learning without the need for expensive lab equipment.

About the course

This course includes the Digital Evaluation Board project kit as well as a series of videos that walk you through some mini-projects designed to get you familiar with the DEB. You will first ensure the board is working properly, then you will explore how the 74HC86 quad XOR gate logic chip operates. In addition, you will reverse engineer the XOR gate circuit using Tinkercad to get an idea of what the DEB is doing inside its own circuitry. You will use Logisim, a logical circuit simulator, to get a more abstract view of what is happening. Finally, you will create a practical application of digital logic by constructing the circuit for an automated quality check system for a donut factory!
