About the course

While it may seem like magic when your car begins beeping to tell you that you are about to hit something, the systems that make this work are actually pretty simple and use relatively inexpensive electrical components.  In this project, you'll use an ultrasonic distance sensor, some LEDs, and a buzzer to construct a circuit that is able to detect nearby obstacles and provide an appropriate warning based on how far away they are.

Some of the lessons in this course require an electronics kit that is not included but which is available from suppliers like Amazon.  Links to suitable kits are provided in the first section.  Most range in price between $50-75, and most include far more components than are necessary for this project.  The contents are reusable, so you will be able to build this and many other electrical circuits!
