About the course
The targets in the game appear in different colors and move at varying speeds across the stage. Players control a launcher and arrow, trying to hit each target before it moves. Every successful hit moves a score arrow along a tracker, and when six targets are hit, the player wins. If the timer runs out before six targets are hit, the game ends. The game features a start screen, a You Win screen with animated characters, and a Game Over screen with a sad cat, making it engaging and fun while teaching basic programming concepts like loops and events.
ScratchJr is designed to allow young children (ages 5-7) to learn to code. Students work on a tablet, and nearly everything is done with drag-and-drop. There's almost no typing at all! However, students develop real problem solving skills by figuring out and constructing the correct sequence of instructions needed to perform a specific task.
